1.6A動態電池充電器/電源管理芯片

      為移動消費電子產品提供電源管理半導體器件的開發商Analogictech有限公司(納斯達克: AATI)日前宣布,推出一款產品編號為AAT3670的高度集成1.6A動態電池充電器與電源管理芯片。該款高度智能型器件將一個電池充電器、限(xian)流負載開(kai)關電(dian)(dian)(dian)路及(ji)(ji)控(kong)制(zhi)電(dian)(dian)(dian)路集(ji)成(cheng)于一(yi)體,適用于由單塊鋰離子/聚合(he)物電(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)供(gong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)的(de)便(bian)攜(xie)式系統(tong),并在不損害電(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)的(de)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)壽命周期(qi)以及(ji)(ji)無需添加外(wai)置負載開(kai)關的(de)情況下,允許使用者在通過(guo)一(yi)個(ge)AC適配器或USB端口給電(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)同時,運(yun)行(xing)他們的(de)系統(tong)。AAT3670可(ke)向電(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)提供(gong)盡(jin)(jin)可(ke)能(neng)(neng)最高的(de)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)(dian)流,從而能(neng)(neng)夠讓消費者以盡(jin)(jin)可(ke)能(neng)(neng)最短的(de)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)時間來完成(cheng)充(chong)(chong)電(dian)(dian)(dian)。 

  “便攜式系統(tong)設計師想要在系統(tong)運行的同時,保證電池在最大的有用(yong)電流(liu)下充(chong)電,他們(men)必須將此功能特性設法設計進帶有單立元件的系統(tong)內。”AnalogicTech產品線主管Bill Weiss說。“AAT3670通過連(lian)續監控(kong)系統(tong)運行當中(zhong)的功率需求,據此自動(dong)調節充(chong)電電流(liu),這樣就為(wei)電池提供了(le)盡可(ke)能最高的充(chong)電電流(liu),并(bing)因此使電池充(chong)電時間最短化。另外(wai),它還減少了(le)元器件的使用(yong)數量,降低了(le)原料成(cheng)本(BOM),并(bing)縮小了(le)印刷電路板(PCB)的尺寸。”

  動態供電電源

  AAT3670通過在電(dian)源、電(dian)池和系(xi)(xi)統(tong)之間同時(shi)進行(xing)功率的分配管(guan)理,可(ke)(ke)為系(xi)(xi)統(tong)負載提供動態的供電(dian)電(dian)源。如(ru)果系(xi)(xi)統(tong)負載電(dian)流(liu)大于來(lai)自AC適(shi)配器(qi)或USB端口可(ke)(ke)提供的輸入電(dian)源電(dian)流(liu),AAT3670可(ke)(ke)以(yi)從電(dian)池中供應額外所需(xu)。

  一個電(dian)(dian)壓感應電(dian)(dian)荷抑(yi)制回路(lu)(voltage-sensing charge reducTIon loop)對(dui)AC適配器和(he)USB的(de)輸入電(dian)(dian)壓進(jin)行監控,并(bing)且根(gen)據系(xi)統(tong)(tong)負(fu)載(zai)電(dian)(dian)流(liu)所(suo)需(xu)多少,對(dui)電(dian)(dian)池的(de)充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流(liu)進(jin)行阻(zu)截(jie),從而自動防止電(dian)(dian)壓下跌。此功能僅通(tong)過(guo)自動調節充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流(liu)到某一限(xian)度就能保持輸入源電(dian)(dian)壓的(de)完整性,同時還確保了系(xi)統(tong)(tong)的(de)連續運(yun)行,并(bing)用最(zui)短的(de)時間對(dui)電(dian)(dian)池進(jin)行充電(dian)(dian)。

  在重負載狀態下,芯片的內部溫度有可能升高(根據PCB的具體設計情況)。傳統的熱保護電路只是簡單地將熱源關閉。由于AAT3670可向系統提供工作電源,這樣的關閉會被認為是一個故障狀況,所以是不能被允許的。因此,AAT3670內置一個數字熱控回路,它可以測量內部晶圓片的溫度,還可以在晶圓片溫度超出極限值時,降低充電電流。由于不關閉電池充電器,此數字熱控(kong)回路會根(gen)據一系列的運行狀(zhuang)況(kuang),將充(chong)電電流(liu)保持最大。

  對使(shi)用AC適配器(qi)進行充(chong)電(dian)時,AAT3670所提供的(de)電(dian)池充(chong)電(dian)電(dian)流(liu)可以調到(dao)(dao)1.6A;對使(shi)用USB高(gao)電(dian)壓(ya)充(chong)電(dian),可調到(dao)(dao)0.9A;對使(shi)用USB低電(dian)壓(ya)充(chong)電(dian),可調到(dao)(dao)0.1A。低的(de)“電(dian)池到(dao)(dao)系統(tong)”(battery-to-system)阻抗可以將功(gong)耗和電(dian)壓(ya)余量(liang)(voltage headroom)保(bao)持最小。

  AAT3670可監控電池在各種故障狀態下的溫度和充電狀況,這些故障包括過電壓、短路和超溫。在故障發生時,充電器能夠(gou)自動關(guan)閉以保護充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)設(she)備、控制系(xi)統(tong)和(he)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)。一(yi)個(ge)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)器的(de)(de)計時器同樣可以在超出(chu)用(yong)戶所設(she)置的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)時長的(de)(de)情況下終止充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian),從而(er)保護了(le)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)和(he)系(xi)統(tong)。兩個(ge)狀態(tai)(tai)監控輸(shu)出(chu)引腳可通過外接的(de)(de)LED(發光(guang)二(er)極管)來指示電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)狀態(tai)(tai)。
