1.6A動態電池充電器/電源管理芯片
為移動消費電子產品提供電源管理半導體器件的開發商Analogictech有限公司(納斯達克: AATI)日前宣布,推出一款產品編號為AAT3670的高度集成1.6A動態電池充電器與電源管理芯片。該款高度智能型器件將一個電池充電器、限(xian)流(liu)負載開關電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)路及控制電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)路集成于一(yi)體(ti),適(shi)用于由單塊鋰離子/聚合物電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)供電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)的(de)(de)便攜(xie)式系(xi)統(tong),并在不損害電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)壽命周期以(yi)及無需(xu)添加外置(zhi)負載開關的(de)(de)情況下,允許使(shi)用者在通過一(yi)個AC適(shi)配器或USB端口(kou)給電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)同時,運行他(ta)們的(de)(de)系(xi)統(tong)。AAT3670可(ke)向(xiang)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池(chi)提供盡可(ke)能最(zui)高的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)流(liu),從而能夠讓消費者以(yi)盡可(ke)能最(zui)短(duan)的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)時間來完成充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)。

動態供電電源
AAT3670通過在電(dian)(dian)源(yuan)、電(dian)(dian)池和系(xi)統之間同時進行功率的分配管(guan)理(li),可(ke)為系(xi)統負載(zai)提供(gong)動態(tai)的供(gong)電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)源(yuan)。如果(guo)系(xi)統負載(zai)電(dian)(dian)流(liu)大于來自AC適(shi)配器或USB端口可(ke)提供(gong)的輸入電(dian)(dian)源(yuan)電(dian)(dian)流(liu),AAT3670可(ke)以(yi)從電(dian)(dian)池中供(gong)應額外(wai)所需。
一(yi)個電(dian)(dian)壓感應電(dian)(dian)荷抑(yi)制回(hui)路(voltage-sensing charge reducTIon loop)對(dui)AC適(shi)配器和USB的(de)(de)輸(shu)入電(dian)(dian)壓進行(xing)監(jian)控,并且根據系統負載電(dian)(dian)流所需多少,對(dui)電(dian)(dian)池(chi)的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流進行(xing)阻截(jie),從而自動防止電(dian)(dian)壓下跌。此功能(neng)(neng)僅通(tong)過自動調節(jie)充電(dian)(dian)電(dian)(dian)流到某一(yi)限度就能(neng)(neng)保持輸(shu)入源電(dian)(dian)壓的(de)(de)完(wan)整性,同時(shi)還確保了(le)系統的(de)(de)連續(xu)運行(xing),并用最(zui)短的(de)(de)時(shi)間對(dui)電(dian)(dian)池(chi)進行(xing)充電(dian)(dian)。
在重負載狀態下,芯片的內部溫度有可能升高(根據PCB的具體設計情況)。傳統的熱保護電路只是簡單地將熱源關閉。由于AAT3670可向系統提供工作電源,這樣的關閉會被認為是一個故障狀況,所以是不能被允許的。因此,AAT3670內置一個數字熱控回路,它可以測量內部晶圓片的溫度,還可以在晶圓片溫度超出極限值時,降低充電電流。由于不關閉電池充電器,此數字熱控回路會(hui)根(gen)據(ju)一(yi)系列的運行狀況,將(jiang)充電(dian)電(dian)流保持(chi)最大。
對(dui)使(shi)用AC適配器(qi)進行充(chong)(chong)電(dian)時(shi),AAT3670所提(ti)供的電(dian)池充(chong)(chong)電(dian)電(dian)流可以(yi)調到(dao)(dao)1.6A;對(dui)使(shi)用USB高電(dian)壓充(chong)(chong)電(dian),可調到(dao)(dao)0.9A;對(dui)使(shi)用USB低(di)電(dian)壓充(chong)(chong)電(dian),可調到(dao)(dao)0.1A。低(di)的“電(dian)池到(dao)(dao)系統”(battery-to-system)阻抗可以(yi)將(jiang)功耗(hao)和電(dian)壓余量(voltage headroom)保持最(zui)小。
AAT3670可監控電池在各種故障狀態下的溫度和充電狀況,這些故障包括過電壓、短路和超溫。在故障發生時,充電器能(neng)夠自動關閉以保(bao)(bao)護(hu)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)設備(bei)、控制(zhi)系統和電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池。一個(ge)電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)器(qi)的(de)(de)計時器(qi)同樣可(ke)以在超出用戶所設置的(de)(de)充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)時長的(de)(de)情況下終(zhong)止充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian),從而(er)保(bao)(bao)護(hu)了電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池和系統。兩個(ge)狀態監控輸出引腳可(ke)通過外接的(de)(de)LED(發光二極管)來指示電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)池充電(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)(dian)狀態。
